Faith Martinez, MACC, LPC Associate
Supervisor: Roxy Riefkohl, PhD, LPC-S

My Mission:
My mission is to help foster personal and relational growth in clients who are seeking support and encouragement. There is potential for hope and empowerment by becoming more self-aware, gaining insight, setting attainable goals, building skills, and committing to personal growth. As we work together in pursuit of your goals, my hope is that you become better equipped to face life’s current and future challenges.
Romans 12:15 “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.”

My Focus:
My focus is with individual adults and couples, including couples who are at the dating, premarital, or marital stage of their relationship. I provide counseling for people with a wide range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, loss, relationships, communication, emotional expression, life transitions, coping, trauma, self-esteem, social skills, spiritual, career, pastoral/missionary, and geriatric/aging among other concerns.

My Education/Credentials/Experience:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (LPC-Intern) in the State of Texas. I have a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling (MACC) from Houston Baptist University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Religion from Lee University.
I have been trained in the Gottman Couples Therapy Model: Level I: Clinical Training, Gottman Method Couples Therapy: Bridging the Couple Chasm and Level II: Assessment, Intervention, and Co-morbidities.
I am a certified SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) Assessment Facilitator. I am a professional member of the Fort Bend Counseling Association and the Christian Counselors of Texas.
During my practicum work I counseled clients with many different personal and relational concerns. I provided counseling services with compassion, kindness, empathy, non-judgment, and authenticity. I was greatly encouraged by client progress and attainment of their goals.

My Technique:
My counseling approach is filtered through the lens of my Christian faith and Biblical foundation. Clients may choose to incorporate spirituality into our time together as little or as much as they desire. I may integrate various psychotherapy approaches, including but not limited to person-centered and cognitive behavioral, in order to tailor counseling to each unique individual and their specific needs.

About Me:
Jesus Christ is the lover of my soul. He has brought me through many challenges, disappointments, heartaches, and life changes. He is my Savior, ideal example for living, my rock, and my hope. He continues to grow and stretch me for my good and His glory. I like to always say “I’m a work in progress.”
My husband is the love of my life, best friend, and biggest support. He challenges me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. I highly value my family and friends; I am so grateful to have them in my life. I enjoy traveling, gaining new experiences, venturing to new restaurants, dancing at Zumba class, and spending quality time with my loved ones.

Areas of Specialty:
Adult individuals, dating couples, premarital couples, marital couples, anxiety, depression, stress, grief, loss, relationships, communication, emotional expression, life transitions, coping, trauma, self-esteem, social skills, spiritual, career, pastoral/missionary, and geriatric/aging.
