Staci Mullinax, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
In my experience, I have found that the most significant factor in effective counseling is the ability for the client and therapist to build a trusting relationship. In order for this to happen, you need to feel confident in my ability to not only provide appropriate clinical care, but to be able to meet you where you are, without judgement. Here’s a little bit of information that can tell you about what I do, as well as who I am.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Sam Houston State University in 1996 and my Master of Social Work degree from University of Houston in 1999. My training and experience has taken place in psychiatric hospitals, public schools, and domestic abuse centers. I have been in private practice since 2008. Because of the diversity in my professional background, I am able to work with clients of all ages. I currently work with clients aged 18 years through adulthood. A large part of my practice includes senior adults facing grief, retirement, health changes, and caregiver stress. I also enjoy working with new mothers.
In my practice, I focus on treatment of depression and anxiety, trauma resolution, grief counseling, and management of chronic psychiatric disorders.
The methods of treatment I use most often are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and EMDR. For more information about the use of EMDR to treat post traumatic stress disorder and anxiety, click on the link below:
I am a wife, mother, and dog owner. I am also an active member of my church family. As a Christian, I seek to integrate responsible psychological principles with scriptural principles found in the Bible. At the same time, I desire to always be respectful of the spiritual place in which others find themselves. My practice consists of helping Christians, as well as people of other faiths.
I am in-network with several insurance companies, including Medicare.
May God bless you in your endeavor to seek growth and healing!
