Yu Wen Wang, LPC, RPT, NCC

My Mission: I believe that everyone is unique and has the ability to achieve self-actualization. I provide a non-judgmental environment for clients to express any issues and concerns. I hope to help people find their strengths that will enable them to cope with stress and overcome obstacles.

My Focus: My focus is working with children who are struggling with their lives. I enjoy working with children ages 3-12. I believe that building the relationship and being connected is the main priority in counseling relationships

My Experience: I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings including schools, domestic violence and sexual assault center, psych hospital, and private practices.

My Technique: Because I believe that a client’s self-awareness is key to developing self-direction and independence, my counseling practice will be guided by Person-Centered Therapy. My approach will provide you with methods to solve problems utilizing your own strengths. Additionally, I may use other approaches such as Child-Centered Play Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness practice and expressive arts to help facilitate your progress in counseling.

About me: I was born and raised in Taiwan. I am trilingual in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Taiwanese. In my free time, I enjoy cooking for a whole week meal, trying out different recipes and cuddling with my two cats (Bun and Mango).
