My Mission

Specializing in trauma, men’s issues, couple's issues, and PTSD, I work with adults and adolescents 16 years and older. I have a passion for seeing people find hope and healing. It is important for you as the client to know that I am for you and with you every step of the way. Imagine you have a tool belt with various tools to help you navigate life…counseling is simply the process of helping you add additional tools to your belt so you know how to handle anything that may come your way.

My Focus

My focus includes men's issues, couple's issues, ministry-related issues, PTSD, trauma, grief, and sexual abuse.  Additionally, I am trained in EMDR, as well as the Gottman Method, Level 1 and Level 2, Prepare/Enrich, SYMBIS, and Grief counseling.

My Education/Credentials/Experience

I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, as well as a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Music from Baylor University.

My Technique

Through an integrative approach, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brief Solution Focused Therapy (BSFT), Spirituality, and other approaches to help you reach your goals. As a Nationally Certified Counselor with advanced training in Trauma Therapy, I often work with survivors of sexual abuse, addictions, and PTSD.  When working with couples I incorporate the renowned Gottman Method. I am Prepare/Enrich certified, SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) certified, and have training in the Allender Narrative Therapy approach.

About Me

I am a native Texan and have been in the Houston area since 2012.  My background is varied with experience in ministry, staffing, coaching, and consulting in addition to counseling.  I am married to Jill and we have two college-aged children.
